Fishing at Cornbury Park

Those wishing to fish at Cornbury may do so by joining either the Cotswold Fly Fishing Association who fish in the private fisheries lakes or Charlbury Angling Club who have exclusive access to the River Evenlode on the Cornbury Estate.

Cotswold Fly Fishing Association
The Cotswold Fly Fishing Association is a private members facility. To find out more about membership of the Association please contact the membership secretary at
wildbrownie@yahoo.co.uk

Charlbury Angling Club
Charlbury Angling Club has exclusive fishing rights on around 7 miles of the River Evenlode, running almost unbroken from just below Ascott Mill down to Fawler – including access to the picturesque Cornbury Park waters, courtesy of Lord Rotherwick.

The River Evenlode boasts exceptional chub fishing, with specimen fish approaching 6lb, and good stocks of beautiful roach, perch, pike, dace, gudgeon and the odd brown trout and bream.

The club operates a strict catch and return policy and are fortunate that the river thrives with other wildlife, such as kingfishers, swans, coots and otters.

The Environment Agency has recently conducted fish surveys and found the Evenlode at Charlbury to be some of the most productive on the whole river - which has been further enhanced by significant habitat improvement works on the river at Cornbury.

New members are always welcome. Annual Memberships is £25 for adults available from Larcum’s, (the former Post Office in Charlbury), State Tackle in Witney, K&M Tackle in Chipping Norton.  If you require any further information please contact Jane Parsons, Secretary on 01608 810822.
